OMG, this has been a great resource I have used with my 5-9 YOC students. I usually teach my kiddos the Kodaly system and this digital (google slide) visual has been great. I have embedder the audio files, so that the students can do it individually. Now, it actually makes me think that would be a great substitute teacher activity (especially the non-music teacher subs). No stress activity, definitelly!

5/18/2020 0 Comments "Ta Ti-Ti" Rhythm PracticeAfter my Elementary students have learned about the Beat, the Rhythm, and how to differentiate the two, and have mastered the "ta" for the quarter note and "ti" for the eighth note, it is time to actually practice saying those rhythms in rhythmical examples. Here I have given my students an oral dictation, in which they had to choose a correct pattern which I was saying. It seems so very easy, but remember that these are kindergarten students, the youngest Elementary students who are also still learning how to read and write in English. So, I take it super easy on them. In this lesson, they were asked to circle the correct pattern.
Here is the picture of the patterns and the video tutorial that goes along with my lesson. 5/13/2020 0 Comments Lesson on quarter and eighth notesQuarter notes and eighth notes are the basics in Music theory.
Those are the first notes my Elementary students learn and study in my music classes. I have instructed them to say "ta" for the quarter note and "ti" for an eight note. The following is the same chant "Engine, Engine Number 9" but this time instead of the words, we are using ta and ti. Check out the chant for the rhythmical notation and the tutorial for details. 5/13/2020 0 Comments Lesson on RhythmI have decided to continue my Elementary Music lessons with the chant "Engine, Engine, Number 9".
This time, it is a lesson on rhythm. I have explained to my students that clapping to rhythm is different then clapping to the beat. Use the chant and the tutorial blow for details and instructions. 5/13/2020 0 Comments Lesson on BeatHere is the first lesson for my Elementary students - Lesson on Beat. Beat is the heartbeat of Music.
This lesson was done with the help of the children's chant "Engine, Engine, Number 9". I have added to additional picture with the words of the chant and the link to my tutorial. Enjoy and clap the beat of the chant with me! |
