This awesome lesson plan is from bbc.co.uk. I have compiled all of the song tutorials and the story from their website and have made it into a Google Slide. This is a treasure for the 6-9 year-old students as you combine the story telling with music. A definite must-do in Music class.

I have always loved the story and the music of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf! If you have not introduced your 6-10 year-olds to this story, you absolutely must! Love, love, love it! I have had piles and piles of papers/folders/lesson plans on Peter and the Wolf, and have decided to digitalize it all during this pandemic and the distance learning. I am linking the Google slides presentation that has it all - story/characters/videos/composer info/song/puppet play/listening maps! Yay!

Movie Music is a new activity that I accidently stumbled upon recently. The students get to watch a silent short cartoon/movie clip and decide which classroom instruments to use to make a movie music score. This was a great activity for the 9 year-olds to High school students. They get to exercise not only their listening skills, but also group interaction skills as well. So much fun!

I have worked on this Escape Room Google Slide for months, and let's me tell you, although it took me a loooooong time, it is definitely worth the time and trouble. This was definitely a labor of love and I am absolutely in awe of this project and plan to use it for many years to come. This is gear primarily towards the Middle school and High School students, since it requires a great deal of research, and the students will need to be independent. The premise of the project is the lost sheet of music that the students need to "help me" find. They go through the series of 15 tasks and research sections to get the Code. At the end of their independent work they complete the Microsoft form in which they place their answers to the 15 questions. Here is the google slide - enjoy!
If they have answered all the questions correct (after I have checked all of their Microsoft files submissions), to conclude the Mission, I send them all individually this "Mission Accomplished" google slide!
