STORY TIME WITH MS. VKids love stories, and I thought it might be fun to have musical stories read to the students and sing songs to accompany the stories. Students love these, so I thought I might make a compilation here for anyone who might use these in their Music classes, or to give ideas for your own videos and music/story times. Have fun exploring the world of Musical stories with me!

MUSIC LISTENINGAs a part of my lesson, I am exposing students to a great deal of listening lessons and am posting the lessons on multiple platforms I am using in my classes (according to the students' levels). I have combined lessons here that deal with listening assignments that my Elementary students use in our online classes.

RECORDER TUTORIALSMy younger students are of constant need of my help when it comes to playing their recorders. How to blow into the mouthpiece, where to put the fingers to correctly play a particular note can be very frustrating for them when I am not there to physically show them and correct them. Hence these video tutorials have proven to be a hit for my students in my Recorder classes.

MAKING INSTRUMENTSMaking homemade instruments with found items is so much fun! My Elementary Students love it when I spice up my Music lessons on a Fun Friday, or when they do it as a Homework project at home.
I have added some cool homemade instrument tutorials and instructions on this page. |

As I tried to teach my Music class students in and out of my class I wanted to create some basic Music theory lessons which, I find, are a necessity in Music teaching.
I thought it might be great if I posted video lessons for students to review at their own time at home. |
Mu kiddos LOOOOOVE dancing in Music class, especially the Preschool - 8 year-olds. I try to encourage my older students to join in the fun, and these dance videos are perfect for that! Click to page to find the wealth of info and links to the dance videos for kids of all ages:)

Since we have all moved to distance learning (March 2020) I have started making google slides presentations, and using them in my virtual learning. I have also found that these google slides are an AWESOME tool when you need to make substitute teacher plans, and you are running out of ideas and/or you have a sub that is not a music teacher. So, in this section I have placed links to the google slides that can be used as lesson plans & substitute teacher plans.

I always introduce my 10 year-olds - Secondary students to the famous composers. With my older students, I conduct research and go in more depth when it comes to composers' lived and works, but my Elementary students do a lot of exposure to listening and analyzing the music compositions. I have compiled some Google Slides lesson plans here which introduce the students to the world's greatest musicians and composers!
